THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WOODEN CLOCK

by JOHN WILDING

ALL PRICES PLUS POSTAGE & PACKING

The original drawings for the construction of this clock were supplied by the Burgess Power Tool Co. (no longer in business). They were supplied with the Burgess band saw as a project to be made on that tool. I felt that the brief instructions were not explicit to enable a beginner to successfully make the clock. The clock is made entirely from 3/8" plywood and wood dowel. The book includes a set of 6 full size drawings. It is possible to construct the clock without a lathe but this availability makes the work far easier. This book now incorporates an additional chapter detailing an alternative grasshopper escapement which is the best escapement for a wooden clock, together with an automatic winding system which is highly desirable feature when using the grasshopper escapement.

This is an excellent project for the beginner or the constructor who has a preference for working with wood in clock making.

There are 34 pages and 67 illustrations plus 6 full size drawings
